A ROAD was closed for two hours after a two-vehicle crash.
Police, firefighters and ambulance crews were called to the A595 near to Ladyhall at 3.30pm yesterday.
The crash involved a black Citroen C6, driven by a couple from the Isle of Man, and a white Isuzu tipper lorry. The occupants of the Citroen had to be cut free from their car.
Police said the driver of the lorry was taken to Furness General Hospital. It is believed one or both of the occupants of the Citroen were taken to the West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven by air ambulance.
The road was re-opened at 5.30pm.
