MILLOM AND DISTRICT LOCAL HISTORY SOCIETY

Meetings are held in Millom Methodist Church on Queen's Street at 7.30 pm (first Friday in the month between September and June each year).
Membership per annum £11. Concessionary £8. Per meeting/on the door £2
The programme of talks for 2010-2011 is as follows:
Friday 1st October 2010 - "Railways of Barrow/Millom/ Whitehaven" by Peter Van Zeller
Friday 5th November 2010 - "A Tour of Haverigg in Old Photos" by Bill Myers
Friday 3rd December 2010 - "The Thirlmere Way (A walk tracing the route of the water supply from its destination in Manchester to Thirlmere)" by David Fellows
No meeting in January.
Friday 4th February 2011 - "Discovering a Landscape of Industry" by Andy Lowe
Friday 4th March 2011 - "Greenodd and Penny Bridge Area (its early history of shipbuilding and other aspects" by Walter Johnston
Friday 1st April 2011- "Cumbrian Coins (tokens and commemorative medals)" by Bill Myers
Friday 6th May 2011 - "Kirkby-in-Furness and Richard Kirkby" by Mr C.A Rowntree
Friday 3rd June 2011 - "William Calvert - Friend of Wordsworth and Agricultural Innovator" by Roy Ellis.
