Free Golf for Serving Members of The Armed Forces.
Silecroft Golf Club has opened its golf course to serving members of the armed forces to enjoy free rounds of golf.
Mr Keith Newton, Secretary Silecroft Golf Club said “Towards the end of 2009 I received a request from a member, whose Grandson was serving in Afghanistan at the time, to look into the possibility of allowing local members of the armed forces the courtesy of the course on their return home from active service. When I approached the golf club council they all agreed that, whilst primarily the scheme would be aimed at serving members on leave from active service, it only seemed right that all serving members of the armed forces should be included. We at Silecroft Golf Club feel a great honour in granting this courtesy to our armed forces personnel as they deserve to know that many people around the country fully appreciate what a dangerous and difficult job they all do on our behalf.”
Details of the scheme can be obtained from Mr Keith Newton – Telephone – 01229 770467 or e-mail keith.newton@hotmail.co.uk
Silecroft Golf Club look forward to playing host to our armed forces personnel and hope that they have a very enjoyable and relaxing day at the club.
