Presentation at Silecroft Golf Club.

On Saturday 28th August a presentation was made to the Coaching Team at Silecroft Golf Club by representatives of two Neighbourhood Forums.

Councillors Sue Brown and Reg Heathcote of the Bootle & Seascale and Millom neighbourhood forums respectively attended the coaching session held on the morning of Saturday 28th August.
Some of the children who regularly attend the coaching sessions were on hand to show their guests how it is done.
The coaching team of Maureen Goodrick, Andrew Laisby, Keith Newton and PGA Professional Paul Rawlinson were on hand to answer the many questions posed by the councillors who showed an avid interest in the proceedings.
Andrew Leece, the last member of the coaching team, was busy winning a competition on the day of the presentation so could not attend.
The councillors presented the coaching team with a cheque for £700 to help towards buying equipment to further enhance the experience for prospective players.
Silecroft Golf Club Secretary Keith Newton said “We are very grateful for all the help we continue to receive from the neighbourhood forums in promoting the game of golf in the community. Golf is an excellent way to promote healthy living and is a sport that can be played by all ages and all abilities for a very long time. The coaching team have worked very hard to introduce golf to the local community and encourage anyone who would like to try the game to attend the free coaching and taster sessions held regularly throughout the year”.

Details of forthcoming coaching and taster sessions can be obtained by ringing:
