Man appears in court over Barrow assault

A BARROW man has pleaded guilty to three charges after a violent attack in Hartington Street.

Wayne McCormack, of Low White Close, Barrow, appeared at Furness Magistrates Court on Saturday morning following his arrest on Thursday.

The 24-year-old pleaded guilty to charges of attempted burglary with intent to steal, assaulting Carl Bareham causing actual bodily harm, and theft of a mobile phone from Mr Bareham. The offences all happened at around 4.10am on Wednesday in Hartington Street, Barrow.

No application for bail was made and McCormack was remanded in custody ahead of an appearance at Preston Crown Court on August 7.
