HUNDREDS of pounds were raised for charity by thrill seekers at a Millom pub.
Eleven brave souls launched themselves into a 200-foot bungee jump in an event held at the Devonshire Hotel on Sunday in aid of the charity Help for Heroes.
A crane was installed in the pub grounds in Devonshire Road to allow friends and pub staff to take part.
Tania Towers, landlady of the Devonshire Hotel, said: “It was a perfect day and everything went very well. We were very lucky with the weather and lots of people turned out to watch. Everybody raised different amounts with their sponsorship so we’re not sure how much we raised.
“Hopefully there will be a few hundred raised for the charity. I don’t know if we’ll make it to £1,000 but there should be a good amount.”
Help for Heroes is a British charity launched in September 2007 to help provide better facilities for wounded British servicemen and women.
